Biotope presentation

This fish lives in clear or black waters, along sandbanks bordered by macrophytes, in areas with moderate to low currents. The bottoms are probably sandy or muddy, with dense vegetation cover. The water temperature is estimated to be between 22°C and 28°C, with a slightly acidic to neutral pH, typical of tropical rivers in this basin. The depth is shallow, probably less than 1 meter, with abundant aquatic vegetation.
